Shundahai Network is a unique organization at a critical point in our 10 year history. One of the great aspects of Shundahai Network is that we have maintained our ability to evolve and adjust to political and logistical realities.

By working collectively, utilizing volunteer time and strong community support for our projects we have been able to keep our overhead and administrative costs extremely low while accomplishing many great things.

Combining the elements of education, community building, Spiritual Ceremony and nonviolent direct action, we are helping to strengthen the dedicated work of thousands of activists around the world.

At Shundahai Network, a little money funds huge projects! Using creativity, dedication and commitment we are able to help solve the many pressing issues of our time.

Since 2002 some nonprofit anti-nuclear and peace organizations have faced a funding decrease from foundations. Shundahai Network is experiencing these same funding difficulties. That is why we need you to become a member of Shundahai Network. Help us continue this work. Help us to be strong and well organized.

If every body who reads this sent in $10 we would host some incredible events helping to increase our movement’s effectiveness. Of course not everyone is going to be able to send in $10. That is why we are asking you to send what ever you can afford right now. Regardless if it is $5 or $10,000, your membership donation makes a difference.

Please print out our membership form and return it with your contribution.

Dear Friends,

We are living in critical times. We see this both in terms of the issues we are addressing and with fundraising efforts to make sure we hold the line and accomplish our goals.

We are writing because it is critical that you participate in the direct front-line defense of the Great Basin bioregion, now, before it is too late. We need your support now more than ever.

Together we have responded creatively to the changing times, and to major issues confronting the world, while remaining at the forefront of resistance to U.S. nuclear policies. Together we need to meet today’s challenges.

Shundahai Network must raise at least $500 per month to continue our operations until anticipated grant money and event registration fulfills our 2005 budget.

If every one who receives this email sent in $10, we would meet these emergency needs. However, we know that not everyone is in a position to send funds at this time, so we urge those of you who can, to dig deep into your pockets and support those who cannot donate.

As a supporter of Shundahai Network, we’re sure you want to know what we’ve been able to do with minimum funds. Our 2004 Annual report is posted online at our award-winning website (http://www.shundahai.org). This includes details of all of our work as well as our 2004 financial report. You can also donate directly through our website on the top left hand corner of our homepage.

In 2005, with your help, we will:

-Expand our Nevada and Utah community education and resistance projects while strengthening the Environmental Justice movement in the rest of the Great Basin bio-region.

-Strengthen indigenous leadership in opposing nuclear programs on traditional and reservation lands. Specifically, we intend to stop the construction of the proposed Yucca Mountain and Private Fuel Storage (PFS) Nuclear Waste dumps.

Remember, we accomplish great things with just a little money!

By supporting Shundahai Network you are making an effective investment in the struggle to protect and defend our precious water, air, and Mother Earth.

To accomplish our goals, we will continue our three programs, which serve Indigenous peoples empowerment and leadership, nuclear weapons disarmament and the protection of people and the environment from radioactive contamination.

Our Environmental Justice Now program supports the work of Corbin Harney, and
directly assists indigenous communities affected by nuclear issues, ensuring Native voices are heard on all levels of nuclear policy and issues.

Our Action for Nuclear Abolition program works for complete nuclear weapons disarmament and closure of the Nevada Test Site to all nuclear programs except for containment and clean up. To this end, we organize educational gatherings and nonviolent direct actions to increase public awareness and involvement.

Our Nuclear Free Great Basin Program fights the dumping and transportation of nuclear waste in the Great Basin bio-region by linking communities, businesses and activists in a common strategy to stop the construction of nuclear waste dumps. Specifically, we continue our unique work to stop the Yucca Mountain and Skull Valley nuclear waste projects.

Be a part of our family and help in any way you can!

Most importantly at this time we need to raise money to pay our rent and office bills for the next two months! We also need people to be involved in the planning and carrying out of our campaign projects. Contact our office to see how you can get involved.
