"Shundahai" is a Newe (Western Shoshone) word meaning
"Peace and Harmony with All Creation"

My Name is Corbin.

I have been trying to protest our Nuclear Energy Department (DOE), talking about the nuclear waste. Trying to protect the land that we survive on, the water that we drink, the air that we breathe. It is important for me to try to protect those things for all the living things, like the animal life, the bird life, plant life, all the creatures that roam this Mother Earth of ours.

I am talking to you about how I feel about what our government is doing to us. They're ramming this thing down our throats. They know that its causing a lot of deaths, a lot of sickness and so forth. We have to look at our water getting contaminated with chemicals and radiation.

This is the main reason I am saying to you people, you are the people that are going to have to pass this message to the younger generations. Let us think about the young generation. How are they going to survive when we already have begun to see so many sicknesses of all different kinds, especially cancers, taking over the land.

We have to stand up for our rights, for all living things. We are the ones with a voice. We are the ones that should be saying what our government is doing is dangerous.

Our government was formed way back a few hundred years ago and said you the people are the backbone of the government. But some how we have been left behind. Our leaders, the lawmakers, what ever you want to call them, are not looking our way. This is the reason our Mother Earth is suffering today.

All of the things we as a Native people survived on at one time, our berries, our roots, all the different kinds of foods that was provided for us here on Mother Earth, are dying. They are dying, because we are not together, we're not talking about those things. We're not getting the message out to the younger folks. And today, each and every one of us is suffering on account of that.

Today, we have developed nuclear power, something that kills all life, and we as a people are effected by that. Those are the reasons we get disgusted with one another, because our brains are effected by something that is meant to kill all life.

This is the reason I am saying to you people, you have to be the ones to think about it and do something about it. We have to save something good for all living things. The younger generations are relying on us.

Someday, somewhere, the young folks are going to come up to us and say, "Why didn't you people save something for us instead of leaving us with a mess that is going to take our life, make our lives miserable.

" Lets not let that happen. Lets do something about it together. Lets unite ourselves together and have our voices heard.

Nuclear power is very important, they told us, its a cheap power. But we have never been told it was going to cause death and sickness and contaminate everything with radiation. If we let it continue, we are going to be the ones that suffer.

We are trying to talk to one another but something gets in the way and then we say to each other, "Your wrong, my way is the only way." But we are not looking at the nature.

What the nature has put here, we are supposed to take care of the best way we can. Our native medicine is gone today on account of this radiation. A radiation that was supposed to kill, and that is what it is doing. Lets not let that continue to happen. Lets wake up to the problem and start talking to each other and tell our leaders "We don't want that any more."

We are the backbone of our government. Lets do something about it for the younger generations.

This is why I go around the country and talk about how the animals survive, how they take care of each other. Theres very few birds left, very few plants left.

We as a people today, have been used as guinea pigs. We have to wake up to that problem. They do what ever they want with us and today they're developing something that is dangerous.

Look at what they're doing putting a rocket into the sky, into the atmosphere. How many chemicals is it leaving behind when it takes off? That beautiful missile that we're sending out there.

Its really important for us not to put this nuclear waste on Indian reservations. This is what they are doing today.

We need your help. Who ever you are, what ever color you are, where ever you come from on this Mother Earth of ours. We've only got this one Earth and we all have to take care of it. Lets not try to destroy it. So today, I am asking all of you people through out the world to unite your selves together. Give us a helping hand so we can take care of all the living things.

All the government and businesses are thinking about money. Lets not think that way, lets all hold hands together, talk to each other, laugh together and have ceremonies together. This is what we were put here for. This is something that we have to do together. We are the people that are going to have to do it.
